Thank you for your interest in the International School of Uganda (ISU). If you have not already done so, and are in Uganda, we invite you to come and visit our beautiful, green campus.
Students may enrol at any time during the school year. While we understand that securing school enrollment is a priority for families, we cannot do so until we have received complete applications and reviewed each child’s file for admission.
You can also follow the admission process below, if you would like to join in the current school year.
Please contact our Admissions Director to find about class availability by completing our online enquiry form.
Once our admissions team has been in touch you will need to complete and provide the appropriate documentation and pay the necessary registration fee. To complete an application to ISU, the registration fee of USD500 per child needs to be deposited to the school's account.
Once all the application paperwork has been received it will be reviewed by the admissions team. Parents will be informed of the School’s decision by the Admissions Director.
We consider the following elements when admitting students to the school:
- The potential of the applicant's ability to benefit from the academic programme.
- The capacity of the school to meet the educational needs of the applicant.
- The ability of the applicant's family to meet the obligations stipulated in the enrolment agreement.
The school may admit students at any time during the school year, provided they meet the admission requirements. Students will also be permitted to withdraw from school at any time of the year.
The business office will contact you once your enrolment has been finalised in order to arrange the payment of fees. You will also have to submit the Emergency Contact form and Bus Form (if required) before the student's start date.
To complete an application to ISU, the registration fee of USD500 per child needs to be deposited to the school's account.
Payment may be made by bank transfer or direct deposit to any of the school bank accounts listed above, or though the school business office by US$ cheque.
Please ensure that the student of family name is indicated when making a payment and if possible send a copy of the transfer or deposit slip to [email protected]
Students are generally placed in grades based on the age of the child. Please note that we also consider previous school transcripts, academic ability, social development, interviews and placement tests, where necessary to determine grade placement at ISU.
The following guide for 2024-25 may be helpful in understanding grade placement at ISU and equivalent national grade placement.
As a grade reaches its optimal capacity, a waiting pool will be established and the school's waitlist procedure will come into effect.
In Junior School students are given a laptop or tablet to use in class.
In Senior School Grade 6 to 11 students need to have a Mac device. For minimum specifications refer to the Senior School Student Requirements list.
We are ready to answer your questions and welcome you to our school.
