International School of Uganda

ISU provides a wide range of activities in which our students may participate. Our school activities are designed to give our students the opportunity to develop new interests, refine their skills, excel in areas they are most passionate about and give back to the community.

After School Activities

The After School Activities (ASA) programme offers, each season, an internationally assembled catalogue of 15+ rich and diverse activities a day from Music to Drama, Rugby to Capoeira, Cultural Activities to Life Skills.

Activities are offered throughout the school year:

  • Season 1: September to November
  • Season 2: January to March
  • Season 3: April to May

In Junior School the ASA programme main focus is on play, growth and development based fine motor skills, social skills, nurturing talent and interest-based.

In Senior School the main focus is on building on talent, interests, service and action, life skills, university preparation and Creativity, Activity, Services (CAS).

Uganda Model United Nations

Model United Nations (MUN) is a conference, which simulates United Nations committees and addresses actual-world issues. Students participate in the conference as delegates of various countries and formulate political positions based on the stance of their representative countries.

The Uganda Model United Nations (UGMUN) is a student-led activity that was established by ISU students in 2015. The conference at ISU is the very first of its kind to be held in Uganda for high school students.

UGMUN is a motivational experience that allows students to solve the world’s most pertinent issues. In the process, students are able to:

  • build leadership
  • communication
  • critical thinking
  • debating skills

AISA GISS

Association of International Schools in Africa - Global Issues Service Summit (AISA-GISS) is a three-day annual summit hosted by an AISA member school. This year ISU will be hosting AISA GISS 2025, the theme of the 2025 AISA-GISS is “Kola Kati,” which translates to “Act Now” in Luganda. AISA-GISS is not just an ordinary conference but an immersive experience that aims to inspire and empower participants to make a positive difference in their communities. It offers a unique opportunity for students to embark on a journey of self-discovery, leadership development, and personal growth that will shape their lives and create a lasting impact.

Docathon leverages transformative power of storytelling. This unique programme empowers students, regardless of their background in film, to learn the essential skills of investigating, storyboarding, filming and editing to create compelling short documentary films.

Docathon Africa offers an incredible platform for these student stories to be shared and celebrated. Join us in showcasing these powerful narratives at the AISA-GISS conference, where students from across the continent come together to inspire and be inspired.
