Welcome to the Senior School at the International School of Uganda, Kampala. The ISU Senior School provides an excellent education for over 350 children from Grade 6 to Grade 12 (ages 11 to 18). With experienced, enthusiastic and supportive teaching staff all students have opportunities to become engaged, thoughtful and active global citizens in order to promote justice and sustainability in pursuit of a more equitable, inclusive and just world.
Student Profile
ISU Senior School is a place where students are empowered to:
Challenge and Engage
The IB MYP and our three Diploma options for Grade 11 - 12 lay the foundations for deep, conceptual learning and the development of skills which are transferrable and useful for life.
We aim to nurture students' natural curiosities while also supporting them to go beyond their comfort zones and achieve more than they thought possible.
Our programmes provoke thinking, encourage examining issues from multiple perspectives, and provide opportunities to apply skills and understanding in real-world situations.
Leadership and Action
Student voices and initiatives are valued and celebrated in our Senior School. Our students are involved in ISSEA, UGMUN, Student Council and are constantly innovating and seeking ways to build community and improve the school experience for students.
Action goes beyond the school campus as we learn about the community and global issues and get involved in service projects and find ways to contribute as positive global citizens.
Wellbeing and Community
We recognise that we thrive and reach our potential academically when we feel safe, happy and healthy. Our wellbeing programme focuses on three components:
- health
- relationships
- identity
As a Senior School, we also come together regularly as a community to share successes, celebrate and build a sense of belonging. As individuals and as a community we keep striving to grow, reflect, learn from mistakes and ultimately be the best version of ourselves!
